2006 Menghai Shou

The only time “DY-NO-MITE” makes any sense whatsoever and you won’t get banned from hanging out with your friends for even acknowledging the term.

You know that feeling when you think you know something and it still ends up blowing your mind to bits and pieces? We seriously relate to that here. That’s because the general consensus about puer tea is like fine wine, it gets better with age. That was absolutely not the case here.

This puer cake had a very typical taste profile of a relatively young, quality puer. It was floral and mellow with lingering hints of grassiness—that is, until we aged it for 3 more years and out came an explosion of sweet, fruity notes. This is what we mean by mind blowing experience.

Officially 13 years old, this baby was produced at Menghai Tea Factory, the real O.G. for puer tea production. At the rate things are going, there’s a lot of potential with this puer cake whether for immediate consumption or longer aging. Age really is just a number here.
